The Pinnacles Classic is the race where the hills feel like mountains!
Many years ago the legendary Peter Holles from the Brookfield Runners initiated this off-road race along the tough course around the Gold Creek Reservoir. The course is 18km long and leads you over 18 serious hills.
Starting life as a small scale friendly race, with a sausage and a beer at the end to refuel the legs, this run has grown into a popular hit-out to test the fitness of locals and the not so locals.
Every odd year the race is run anti-clockwise, every even year the race is run clockwise. So, this year we’ll take off up the hills to the right of Gold Creek Reservoir.
Date and Time: Sunday 7 April, slow wave starts 6:40am, main wave starts at 7:00am. Race briefings are 10mins before the starting times. Be there at least 30mins before your start to pick up your bib and confirm your start time.
Please note that the winners and placings are taken from wave 2!
Car-pooling required: Options are available during the registration process. Parking only in designated parking areas and follow all directions given by parking marshals.
Course: The course is 18km long over serious hills in Brisbane Forest Park (D’Aguillar National Park), at the end of Gold Creek Road Brookfield. The race starts and finishes at Gold Creek Reservoir. It is a race for seriously fit runners. See the map and course profile further below.
Catering: The entry fee includes a BBQ afterwards (sausage sizzle), but there will be also fruit, water and (sports) drink to replenish what you have left out there on the trails. Coffee is available too for you to purchase separately.
Registration and cost: For participants 18 years and older: entries close at 4pm on the 6th April with 200 entrants allowed. Entry cost $35 for TRAQ members and $42.50 for non-members.
TRAQ Membership details here. TRAQ has affiliated with Queensland Athletics (QA). Annual Membership fees are $17.50 per individual. The registration year runs from1 October 2017 to 30 September 2018.
Register now and nominate your starting wave. You pick up your race bib from the registration table at least 30min before your start. Race briefing takes place 10min before the start of each wave. Main wave (2) starts at 7am, very slow wave (1) starts at 6:40am.

Fuel and Nutrition: you need to carry at least 750mls of fluids. There is one checkpoint halfway along the course with water, electrolytes and lollies.
