2012 information to give you an overview of the weekend:
Online entries open Mon 2 July at 7midday, and close Sat 20 Oct midnight or more likely when full. If you miss out, don’t despair though; weekend events have a high drop-out rate and last year we managed to place everyone on the waitlist. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to join the waitlist if you miss online entry (confirmed entries and waitlist are shown at the bottom of this page).
1. This is a two-day event, and we prefer entrants to run both days. Our planning is for runners covering the Border Track over on Saturday, back on Sunday – so if you run one day only, you need to organise your own transfers.
2. Accommodation is limited, so if you’re not joining us in the bunkhouse (payable with your online entry), book your lodge/safari tent/camping accomodation as soon as your entry is accepted.
Race program: here
Race entry is $80 including both days and two lunchs
Bunkhouse is $60 for either or both days including breakfasts

About the Lamington Classic
Each year I’m amazed how many people talk about wanting to run at Lamington, but can’t organise a weekend off! Forget the chores and enjoy the whole experience with a week-end on the best trails in South-East Queensland. Whether you stay in the Eco-lodge bunkhouse, or book your own cabin, safari tent or campsite and join us in the lodge and cafe in the evenings, you’ll have a great weekend. All your transfers and meals are arranged, you can sit around the fire at night and swap stories – now that’s how to spend a weekend.
Ideally, leave work early on Friday, and stay two nights (no extra cost if staying in the bunkhouse). You get two brilliant runs (21.8k each way), your breakfasts and lunches for $80, a two course meal/prizegiving at Binna Burra’s cafe on Saturday night for $30, and accommodation in the Eco-lodge bunkhouse for $60 whether its one or both nights including breakfasts. Bunkhouse rooms take up to 6 in each, so if you organise a group you can snaffle a room just for you and your friends. Or book your own accommodation choice at Binna Burra, from camping to low-cost permanent ‘safari tents’ with matresses, to luxury cabins-with-a-view and the new apartments.
We also encourage clubs and friends to organise a team of three; the team competition has a long history – this is the 43rd Lamington Classic! – and it adds to the fun for you.
If you want to stay in the bunkhouse next to the eco-lodge and race centre, book with your entry. Otherwise book directly with Binna Burra phone 5533 3622, who have a new option this year, luxurious share apartments which are affordable for larger groups. We have put plenty of accommodation on hold for you, but we will release it 6 weeks before the race – so book your accommodation soon after you enter to avoid dissapointment.
Self-book Binna Burra accommodation options in rising order of cost: 1) Binna Burra’s famous safari tents 2) basic rooms for 2-6 at the Lodge bookable 3) share apartments.
Details will be emailed out to entrants. Now, here are reports from other Lamington trails weekends to fire you up…
